This week, I was given the Arte y Pico Awardby one of my earliest blog pals (and recent guest-blogger), Anali, from analisfirstamendment, who was thoughtful enough to say the following about my blog:
“Gunfighter is the father of two beautiful girls, a husband, and a citizen of our nation's capitol. He talks politics and guns, but don't let that scare you. He's all heart. You never know when he'll decide to cook up a recipe or bless you with a haiku or two”
Many thanks Anali… as I told you in my email, I appreciate your kind words about my little ol’ no account blog.
By the way, if you are a foodie, you have got to go to her blog!
Guess what I’m going to do now? I am going to share the love! That's right, I'm going to pass this award on to five bloggers who inspire me with their words, actions, and lives.
RULES
1.You have to pick five blogs that you consider deserve this award in terms of creativity, design, interesting material, and general contributions to the blogger community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each winner has to show the award and give the name and link to the blog that has given him or her the award itself.
4. Each winner and each giver of the prize has to show the link of “Arte y pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5. To show these rules.
The MOMocrats These smart, strong, bold ladies are a new force to be reckoned with in political blogdom. They are courageous and outspoken. Their zeal for their particular brand of politics (which closely mirrors my own) sets them apart from other blogs. I have met two of these ladies at various functions and they are just as charming as they are passionate.
DJ Blackadam: This young Chicagoan is a fellow former Marine and music producer, who shares his faith and insight into American culture in a direct, thoughtful way. He is up-front about his feelings and doesn’t sugar coat his opinions. Having said that, give him a read, and you will immediately know that he is a class act, all the way.
Brillig is a wife and mother who has lived and worked all over the world, and has recently moved to Colorado. Brillig is an exceptionally smart lady who has an incredible wealth of life experiences to be. She is a polyglot; a woman of strong faith; and is laugh-out-loud funny when she wants to be.
The Zaftig Redhead is a resident of our nation’s Capital and writes about politics and public policy. Although her blog is fairly new, ZR (as I call her) has jumped right into the fray with both barrels blazing. She is super busy because of the political campaigns, but she has promised that she will continue our interview when it is all said and done.
Like me, the author of Scribble In The Margins is a middle aged dad. He is thoughtful, and erudite, and his posts are always totally cogent. He is a man who is sometimes outraged, but realizes that outrage should be replaced by compassion and right action. Give him a read when you get the chance.
Go and read these blogs, you will be glad that you did.
