2. Anyone worth shooting, is worth shooting more than once. If you survive the fight, you can always buy more ammo.
- Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.
- If your shooting stance in a gunfight is correct, you're probably not moving fast enough nor using cover correctly.
- Move away from your attacker if you can. Distance is your friend.
- If you are in a position to make a choice, bring a long gun (a rifle, shotgun, or sub-machinegun, for those of you who don’t habla) to your gunfight.
- When the dust settles, no one will care about your stance, your weapon’s caliber, or tactics… only about who lived.
- If you aren't shooting, you should be communicating, moving, or reloading.
- Use a gun that works… every time.
- The only unfair fight is the one you lose. Think about this now, while you can.
- Have a plan.
- Have a back-up plan, because the first one probably won't work.
- USE COVER!
- Watch your flanks and your back. You're opponent may have brought friends with him.
- Don't drop your guard… ever!
- Don't forget to scan your threat area… always assume that there is another bad guy out there.
- Watch their hands. Hands kill.
- Decide to be aggressive enough, early enough. There is no such thing as being “too aggressive” in a gunfight.
- The faster you shoot (and hit) your opponent, the less he'll shoot you!
- Be polite, be professional, love your neighbor… and be prepared to kill everyone you meet.
